Water Quality Monitoring

The DRC's mission is to restore streamflow and improve water quality in the Deschutes Basin. We understand that we need to monitor both streamflow and water quality to determine baseline conditions, restoration targets, and progress towards our goals. The DRC works closely with the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council's Water Quality Monitoring Program to ensure that it is meeting its goals.

The Water Quality Monitoring Program is a comprehensive, cross-jurisdictional, hydro-logic unit based monitoring effort that encompasses the Deschutes River and its tributaries upstream of Lake Billy Chinook. The UDWC runs the program in coordination with local, state, and federal agencies. The DRC works with other organizations, including the Crooked River Watershed Council, to ensure that monitoring occurs in other parts of the Deschutes Basin.
