Deschutes River Conservancy names New Directors to Board

Bruce Bischof, Damien Nurre and Jim Mead have joined the Deschutes River Conservancy board of directors.

Bischof serves as management and labor law attorney at Bruce Bischof Law Offices, where he represents public entities and government agencies in Eastern Oregon. Bischof, a Central Oregon resident for 30 years, is the author of “Reflections of the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.” He is an executive board member of the Boy Scouts of America-Crater Lake Council, a lifetime member of the National Eagle Scout Association, serves on the board of the Sunriver Music Festival and is a former president of Oregon Trout.

Nurre, who will represent tourism and recreation, serves as head guide and partner for Fly & Field Outfitters in Bend. He attended the University of Montana and moved to Bend nearly 10 years ago, where he worked in the snowboarding industry.

Mead serves as head of the portfolio management committee at The BMG Group, a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley in Bend. He serves as a senior vice president, financial adviser and senior consultant. Mead, a certified financial planner and certified investment management analyst, specializes in client portfolio asset and wealth management strategies for high net-worth clients. He is a graduate of the University of San Diego and has more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. Mead is a meember of the Financial Planning Association and the Investment Management Consultants Association.
