Operation Steelhead Story Featured in Health Digest
In a couple of weeks, about 175,000 steelhead fry are going to be released into Whychus Creek. For the steelhead reintroduction efforts to be successful, these fragile, two inch fry are going to need a very healthy ecosystem to survive and thrive.
The DRC recently received two distinguished Conservation Awards – one from the Department of Interior and the other from the State of Oregon Water Resources Department.
The DRC has signed a landmark agreement with the Central Oregon Irrigation District and the Swalley Irrigation District to form the Central Oregon Water Bank.
A press conference to highlight the Reintroduction of steelhead into Whychus Creek will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 1:00 pm at the Camp Polk Meadow Preserve outside of Sisters.
