DRC's River Stewards are dedicated to investing in our basin's future. Through their annual gift of $1,000 or more, these community leaders know the importance of healthy rivers, and acknowledge the ongoing effort it takes to steward such an important resource.
River Stewards receive exclusive updates and personal invitations to private events and tours to see the impact of their investments.
The Headwaters Council honors visionary partners who invest $10,000 or more each year in the future of Central Oregon’s rivers and communities.
Headwaters Council members enjoy the opportunity for deep relationships with DRC’s directors and staff including our famous Executive Director's breakfast and periodic tours and events.

Creative Ways to Give
DAF’s are becoming an increasingly popular method of gifting. Recommending a donation to the DRC is an easy process. To recommend a donation in support of healthy rivers, you can work with your institution’s grant-making process and recommend a contribution to the Deschutes River Conservancy.

Looking for a tax-savvy way to support our rivers? By giving stock as your donation, you can avoid capital gains taxes and receive a charitable deduction, allowing your contribution to go even further!
If you’re 70½ or older, you also have the availability to transfer your required minimum IRA distribution as a Qualified Charitable Distribution directly to the Deschutes River Conservancy. This tax-free disbursement supports our mission while providing you with financial benefits.

Because donor names are not included with stock wire transfers, it’s essential that you or your broker contact Ben Kittell at ben@deschutesriver.org. This helps us identify your donation and provide you with a written gift acknowledgment. In accordance with IRS guidelines, your gift acknowledgment will include the name of the stock and the date of transfer, but will not include a valuation. Please consult your accountant or tax advisor if you have any questions about tax reporting.
