Dani Wise Johnson Joins DRC as Programs Director

Dani joins the DRC as our Programs Director. Previously, Dani earned a BS in Environmental Science from The College of William and Mary in Virginia in 1995, followed by a Masters in Natural Resources – with a Watershed Hydrology focus from North Carolina State University in 1998.  Additionally, Dani has completed various post-graduate courses related to her fields of study and is a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner through the Society of Ecological Restoration.

Dani enjoyed the opportunity to work in the academic setting, research faculty through Extension at NCSU; spending seven years with the NCSU Water Quality Group and as the Program Director for the Stream Restoration Institute. Dani has also worked with with large consulting firms, participating in, as well as leading restoration and planning projects across the US.

For the past 10 years, Dani has been working independently, conducting restoration projects, performing watershed assessments, leading trainings for professionals, guiding municipalities and non-profits through water quality challenges, and generally trying to spend as much time on the rivers as possible!

Having worked in a variety of capacities during her career, Dani is thrilled to bring her experience and knowledge base to Central Oregon, and join the exceptional staff at DRC as they navigate the challenges ahead!

Outside the office, Dani and her family enjoy time on the water, and restoring old homes and airstreams.
