Recent events in the United States are a reminder to us at the Deschutes River Conservancy of the deep inequities and racism in our nation. We stand with those who speak out against these and other injustices. The staff and board of the Deschutes River Conservancy embrace the values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. We acknowledge that we still have much to learn. We commit to listening to those affected by injustice. We commit to critical self-reflection to learn more, and to do more, to help end systemic inequality and racism. A healthy environment and healthy inclusive communities are deeply interconnected — we cannot have one without the other.
