Canal Piping

The Deschutes River Conservancy's canal piping projects address the significant water loss in our local rivers and streams due to irrigation diversions and water transference through leaking canals. By piping canals, the Conservancy has improved irrigation district efficiency, thereby conserving 140 cubic feet per second of streamflow. This conservation work is vital for preventing habitat degradation and ensuring healthier conditions for fish and wildlife in the Deschutes River and its tributaries.
